Other

Each purpose below is asked for separately. Everything except the strictly necessary is off until you turn it on, and you can come back and switch any of it off from the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

• Strictly necessary

Remembers your basket, your language and your choice on this panel. The site cannot work without it, so it is always on and it never identifies you.

Always on. Required for the site to function.

• Measurement

Counts page views and tells us which stories are read, so we know what to publish next. It is configured without cross-site tracking.

• Embedded content

Lets videos and social posts inside a story load in place. Those providers can then set their own cookies and see that you visited the page.

Your choice is kept for 12 months and then asked again. Withdrawing consent also deletes the cookies that were set for that purpose.
